Trim Levels (Exterior)

Toyota offers the Camry in five different trims. The L starts the lineup with 16-inch steel wheels and LED headlights. The LE adds 17-inch alloy wheels, or you can step up to the sporty SE with a sport-tuned suspension and 18-inch alloy wheels. The XLE and XSE add to the LE and SE with larger wheels and extra convenience and safety features.

Engine (Power)

All the Camry models come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Choosing the XSE bumps up the power slightly for this engine and will get you 206 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. The XLE and XSE offer the option for a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that generates 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. No matter which engine or model you choose, it comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Performance

Either engine gives the Camry the power needed for easy merging and highway driving, but the V-6 offers quicker acceleration. If you choose the SE or XSE model, paddle shifters come as standard equipment to add more excitement to the driving experience. Toyota added a double-wishbone suspension in 2018 and lowered the center of gravity to make the Camry more dynamic to drive. The result is a sedan that offers an excellent blend of efficiency and performance.

Interior

Up to five people can comfortably sit in the Camry, with plenty of legroom both up front and in the back seat. The dashboard layout is functional and easy to use and the high-quality materials in the cabin make it an inviting place to ride. Stepping up to the XLE or XSE adds extras such as dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, and a power-adjustable passenger seat up front. These features are available as options in the lower trims. Technology starts with a 7-inch touch screen with the Entune infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, a USB port, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. The XLE and XSE add an 8-inch touch screen, wireless smartphone charging, and some extra USB ports. Satellite radio is also available, and you can upgrade to a nine-speaker JBL stereo system.

Safety Features

The Toyota Safety Sense suite comes standard on every Camry and includes driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. It also has lane departure warning with a steering assistance feature and automatic high beams. The XLE and XSE add a blind-spot monitoring system and rear cross-traffic alert. For extra safety features, Toyota makes a head-up display available, as well as a 360-degree top-down parking camera system.
