The Toyota Sienna is a popular minivan that offers flexible seating arrangements, plenty of cargo space, and the latest technology. The 2020 model has a new Nightshade Edition with blacked-out trim elements, and it continues to be the only minivan to offer all-wheel-drive. Here is a look at the 2020 Toyota Sienna.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
There are five main trim levels and two sub trims to choose from with the Sienna. The L is the base model and comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, a windshield wiper-deicer, and automatic headlights. The LE adds power-sliding rear doors, heated side door mirrors, roof rails, and it has privacy glass. Bump up to the sporty SE for a sport-tuned suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a power liftgate along with a sportier exterior look. The SE Premium comes standard with a sunroof, and it adds more technology in the cabin. The XLE and XLE Premium have similar features to the SE and SE Premium without the sport-tuned suspension.
Take a step up to the Limited model for 18-inch alloy wheels, a unique grille, LED daytime running lights, and power-folding side mirrors with an auto-dimming function. The Limited also has two sunroofs. Bumping up to the Limited Premium adds xenon headlights and automatic wipers.
Engine (Power)
All the Sienna models have a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 296 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. Toyota gives it an eight-speed automatic transmission, and all models come standard with front-wheel drive. All-wheel-drive is an available option for all trims except the base L.
Performance
The engine in the Sienna has plenty of power to get it up to cruising speed, and it will easily pass other cars on the highway. The suspension works to eat up bumps in the road for a smooth ride, and it helps the Sienna stays connected to the road so it feels secure when heading around tight corners. Choose the SE for a firmer ride and a slightly more agile feel. The Sienna is a family vehicle, and it can tow up to 3,500 pounds which is plenty for a camper or small boat.
Interior
The Sienna, like most minivans, has three rows of seats and room for up to seven or eight passengers depending on the configuration. There are two sets of LATCH seat connections for car seats in the second row and two sets in the third row. The lower-end models have cloth upholstery with leather starting in the SE. The XLE adds a power-adjustable passengers seat, and the Limited adds premium leather upholstery, driver-seat memory functions, and it has a heated steering wheel.
All trims come with the Entune infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and five USB ports. Navigation comes in the higher trims, along with the Driver Easy Speak system, and an upgraded stereo.
Safety Features
Standard safety features in the 2020 Sienna include a rearview camera and the Safety Sense-P suite with forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic headlights, and lane departure alert with lane keep assist.
