SAFETY
Toyota Corolla

When it comes to driver assistance tech, both the Corolla and the Civic offer impressive features that work constantly to keep you and your passengers safe.

Safe & Sound

The 2022 Corolla comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.0, which includes features such as:

  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
  • Automatic High Beams
  • Road Sign Assist
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

In the realm of safety, the Civic’s standard Honda Sensing® suite of technology offers comparable features. You know you’ll be as safe as possible in either of these smart sedans.

COMFORT
Toyota Corolla

Comfort and convenience are two of the most important features when it comes to the interior of a daily driver. Luckily, the Corolla and the Civic have those covered.

Interior Amenities

Either offers seating for up to five passengers with available heated front seats to keep you cozy.

How about what they offer to help you enjoy the ride? When listening to music enroute to your destination, the standard Corolla L trim can better support you with a 6-speaker audio system. To compare, the standard 4-speaker audio system in the Civic can’t match the Corolla’s more complete sound experience.

PERFORMANCE
Toyota Corolla

Both compact sedans come standard with a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), which offers exceptionally smooth shifting capabilities. If you want to take control of gear shifting, the CVT is available with paddle shifters in either vehicle.

However, for complete control, you might want to use a manual transmission. In that case, only the 2022 Toyota Corolla can compete. It has an available 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission to offer extra control and fun while on the road—something that’s lacking in the Civic.

Fuel Efficiency

As you travel in the utmost comfort, you’d rather be on the road than standing at a gas pump. For that, you need a fuel-efficient ride. That’s why the Toyota Corolla gives you an EPA-estimated 31 city and 40 highway MPG.1 Plus, the available hybrid powertrain can offer up to an EPA-estimated 53 city and 52 highway MPG.1

The Honda Civic, on the other hand, isn’t available with a hybrid powertrain. Its standard configuration can offer up to 31 city and 40 highway MPG and it’s sport trim setup yields a lesser 30 city and 37 highway MPG.

Smooth Shifting Power

On top of their fuel-efficient performances, the Toyota Corolla and the Honda Civic provide you with multiple engine options. In the Corolla, you can select from one of three engines:

  • 1.8L 4-cylinder: 139 horsepower and 126 lb-ft of torque
  • 1.8L hybrid 4-cylinder: 121 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque
  • 2.0L 4-cylinder: 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque

Alternatively, the Honda Civic offers two engines: a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine and a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine.
