For those who like to fish, there are some well-known spots where you can make your next big catch, and some other, lesser-known fishing spots that are worth a try. Here are some of the best places to fish near Durham. more Eno River State Park Eno River State Park is home to one of the best streams for fishing in the Neuse River Basin. Whether you want to go fly fishing, cast a lure, or use the age-old worm, there are many spots along the Eno River where you can go. Most of the river is shallow enough for wading, and there are many spots along the banks where you can set your gear up for an afternoon of relaxation while you drop your line. Some of the fish that you might catch in this river include largemouth bass, redbreast sunfish, bluegill, and Roanoke bass. The Eno is one of only four rivers in North Carolina where you can find Roanoke bass. Occoneechee Mountain The Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area has three miles of trails and two ponds for fishing. The small ponds have bass and panfish with just your rod and some worms. Remember that adults need a fishing license, and if you are new to fishing, you can get started by using some of the park's equipment. They will loan it to you so you can practice your catching and releasing skills and hopefully catch a bass or brim. William B Umstead State Park Bring your fishing gear to William B Umstead State Park and try your luck at one of the ponds or tributaries. There are miles of hiking trails at this park, and some will take you to area fishing holes. The Sal's Trail is a 2.8-mile loop trail that brings you to Big Lake. This has a boathouse and several areas where you can set up for fishing. Anderson Community Park In nearby Carrboro, NC you can head to Anderson Community Park for some fishing. The fishing pond has a trail the runs all the way around it, and there are lots of places where you can stand while you cast into the lake. The city stocks the lake with catfish and several other fish, so you will most likely catch something. Lake Michie Recreation Area Lake Michie Recreation Area is a few miles outside of Durham and is home to a lake with some of the best largemouth bass fishing you'll find the area. You can rent a boat to get out on the water or launch your own. Along with the bass, this lake also has catfish, and it is a fun place to get out without the crowds usually found at larger lakes. On the 5 Points Stage on Saturday, you'll find excellent performers like Ceil and Dan who offer classic rock music covers and original instrumental music with vocal harmonies, and Michael Daughtry, who sings upbeat rock music. Rumors and speculations surrounding a model redesign are floated long before the model release itself. In reality, no one knows for sure until the official introduction of the new vehicle, but that doesn't stop people from trying to be the first to know what will be included. Here's what we've been able to gather on what you should know about the 2021 Toyota Tundra. more Powertrain Wishes There are several opinions on what engines will be included with the 2021 Tundra. Some hope the 5.7-liter V-8 engine, which delivers 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque and has a decade of proven performance, will stick around as one option. Others envision a 5.0-liter or 6.0-liter would be a better path to follow. Hybrid options are popular, with a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged hybrid engine on many wish lists, but there has been no confirmation if one will be included or not. Finally, a Tundra diesel option has been floated around for the past decade. Regardless of what the reality is, many truck buyers would love to see an engine delivering in excess of 400 horsepower, even reaching 450 horsepower, along with a significant increase of torque for towing. Current engines pair with a six-speed automatic transmission, and the hope is that an eight-speed or 10-speed automatic transmission will be included with the 2021 model, perhaps even a manual transmission option. Towing Capabilities Wishes The 2019 Tundra's tow capacity ranges from the minimum of 6,400 pounds to the maximum of 10,200 pounds. Not every truck is used to haul or tow items of extreme weight, so a high maximum rating is not needed for every trim. Many truck enthusiasts do have their sights set on a tow rating of more than 12,000 pounds for at least one or two trims with the 2021 release. New CrewMax Option With Longer Bed Most buyers would like to see Toyota continue to offer both the Double Cab and CrewMax options with the 2021 Toyota Tundra. One suggested configuration many would like to see added is the CrewMax cab with a larger engine, with 5.5-, 6-, and 6.5-foot bed options included, without losing the seating in the back seat that people choosing the CrewMax have come to rely on. New Tundra Comfort and Convenience There's little question that the 2021 Tundra will include both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, with many hoping for a simple layout of buttons and controls that will be easily accessible by both the driver and front passenger. In addition, most would expect to see a minimum 7-inch touch screen with a larger 11- or 12-inch option available in the higher trims. Long-Term Toyota Quality The one thing everyone is expecting with the 2021 Tundra is Toyota's dependability, reliability, and quality. Most expect to see it return to Kelley Blue Book as the Highest Resale Value award winner.
