At Mark Jacobson Toyota, we believe in giving back to our community, and there’s no better way to do that than supporting incredible organizations like Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC). That’s why we were proud to take part in the 2025 CCSO “Freezing for a Reason” Polar Plunge at Jordan Lake!

This year’s event was nothing short of amazing—raising a record-breaking nearly $80,000 for SONC! From the youngest plunger at just four years old to the oldest at 78, the dedication and enthusiasm of our community were truly inspiring. Even UNO, the event mascot, braved the icy waters multiple times!

We want to give a huge shoutout to the top fundraisers:
🏅 Lindsey Vickers – Top Individual Fundraiser
🏫 Chatham Charter School – Top Fundraising School
👑 The Royals (Chatham County Detention Center Team) – Top Fundraising Team
🎭 Seaforth High School – Best Team Costumes & Top School Participation
🎩 Chris Marcum – Best Individual Costume

None of this would have been possible without the amazing efforts of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, dedicated volunteers, and generous sponsors, including B. Everett Jordan Lake State Parks, FirstHealth of the Carolinas, and North Chatham Volunteer Fire Department.

To everyone who plunged, donated, or cheered from the sidelines—thank you! Your support helps provide opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities to train, compete, and shine. We’re honored to stand with SONC and look forward to more ways we can support our local community.

See you at the next Polar Plunge! ❄️💙
